The Finnair airline’s agent website has gone dark in Ireland, a day after the airline said it would not renew its contract.
The agency’s website was offline for nearly an hour and a half before it was restored and its Twitter account was reinstated.
Finnair said on Monday that its agent website had been hacked in an attempt to “prevent the spread of harmful malware”.
The agency said it was working with security companies to help protect its customers.
“The website was taken down after a malicious attempt to steal information was made on our system,” it said in a statement.
“We are working closely with our security partners to investigate and prevent this type of intrusion in the future.”
